If you are new to the artistic journey of watercolor painting and would like to learn basic watercolor techniques, this class will cover the three properties of color, transparency, flat, gradient and variegated washes, wet-in-wet, dry brush, and color mixing. Simple abstract exercises and creative projects will be suggested.
Instruction will be on how to mix the correct ratio of pigment to water, how to hold and work with brushes, and which papers to use. You will be guided on watercolor supplies and materials to choose in our first class. The class is limited to 10 students for individualized instruction and has no materials fees.
Recommended Materials:
Watercolor sets, warm and cool primary colors either pans or tubes. This is a suggested list of eight colors. Many colors are optional and can be mixed with the primary colors in warm and cool* suggested below.
