Spring Watercolor classes with Mary Horrigan will be available at the Marlborough Arts Center in March. There will be two separate course offerings. Please read below for more details!
Watercolor: The Basics
Offered on the following Tuesdays: March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 from 10 a.m. – noon
Fee: $120
These lessons are designed for “Basic Beginners”. This class starts with the very basics: brush handling, laying a wash, making simple shapes, controlling values, and mixing colors. Subject matter will include still life objects and landscape elements.
Watercolor: Beyond the Basics
Offered on the following Thursdays: March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 18, 25 from 10 a.m. – noon
Fee: $120
Thursdays’ lessons are designed for students with some fundamental experience in watercolor. This class assumes knowledge of the basics, such as laying a wash, controlling values, brush handling, and mixing colors. We will concentrate on composition, color theory, working photos and still life setups.

Mary Horrigan has taught watercolor classes for Manchester Community College, Middletown Adult Education, the Glastonbury Art Guild, the Guilford Art Center, and for the Marlborough Arts Center. Her paintings have been exhibited in Maine, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and have won several awards.
