The Mark Cote/Jim Schribert Jazz Duo will play on September 28 at Marlborough Arts Center’s “4th Friday @ the Arts Café” musical evening. They are well-known professional guitarists who present an unique jazz experience that will grace the excellent acoustics in the Charles W. Hall Art Gallery to the delight of the audience.
Mark Cote has been playing guitar for almost 40 years with bands from the Connecticut area and Las Vegas. He has tapped into all styles of music. Mark has performed with Avenue Groove, a popular Connecticut based funk band and with 3 of a Kind, a rock and country band. Looking to expand into another style, Mark has joined Jim Schribert to form this unique jazz duo.
Jim Schribert is a graduate of the Hartford Conservatory of Music and studied at the Hartt School of Music studying both jazz guitar and music theory. Over the years he has performed a wide variety of musical styles including jazz, blues, rock and funk. Jim is currently the guitarist for the Hartford-based band, Locomotion.
The Marlborough arts Center, located at 231 North Main Street in Marlborough CT is a non-profit regional center for the arts. It is housed in a historic building with landscaped lawns and ample parking. It is fully accessible.
Admission is $10 per person at the door. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. BYOWine. Other refreshments are available. Be sure to view the members’ artworks on exhibit before the concert, and perhaps walk the trail of the adjacent ART PARK.
