The Marlborough Arts Center at 231 North Main Street in Marlborough, CT announces its first all Sculpture Show. The show begins with an Opening Reception on Friday, September 5, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. for the public to meet and mingle with the artists while enjoying refreshments. This 3-dimensional show gives another perspective to art and one the Arts Center is pleased to present with works from Sculptors living in Marlborough, East Hampton, Hebron, Colchester, and other towns of the region.
Beginning with Saturday, September 6, the day after the Opening Reception, the Sculpture Show will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. through September 28. The sculptures are exhibited in the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery, a venue that enhances the art works displayed. Admission is free of charge and the facility is fully accessible with ample parking available.
The Gift Shop, filled with many smaller art works, jewelry, carved wood objects, and even artist-made beeswax candles, will also be open during the show’s visiting hours. These fine crafts make wonderful gifts and visitors are invited to peruse the Gift Shop while at the Arts Center.
This is also an opportunity to view the lawn sculptures carved of green serpentine in Zimbabwe: “Harvest for the Mother of Twins” and “Diving Right In “, while they remain on the grounds of the Arts Center before being returned to the artists.
