The Marlborough Arts Center’s popular “4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe” musical evenings features the acoustic duo Deep Ellum on Friday, October 28, starting at 7:30 p.m. in its Charles W. Hall Art Gallery at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT.
Deep Ellum’s experienced musicians, Rich Johnson and Jon Swift, have performed separately, and together, while appearing on radio and TV shows, with various bands, and in many Connecticut venues featuring acoustic music. They call their playing an “Americana” mix of blues, old jazz, folk music, bluegrass, and oldies and are known for putting their distinctive stamp on each song they perform. They play a variety of instruments including the dobro with its distinctive sound.
Admission is $10 at the door. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. BYOWine. Other refreshments are available. The Art Center’s Gift Shop with unique examples of work by local artists in many media will be open for you to peruse and buy that perfect gift for yourself or for someone else now that the holidays are near.
