The Marlborough Arts Center is pleased to announce a new exhibit at the Marlborough Town Hall. Featured is artwork by Jennifer Chaffee.
Currently a resident of Marlborough, Ms. Chaffee has been doing fine art since she was a teenager. Both of her parents were artists. Her mother did watercolor, pastel painting and printmaking. Her father is a sculptor.
Jennifer has a BFA degree in graphic design from Rochester Institute of Technology and has taken classes in ceramics at the School for American Craftsmen in Rochester, NY. She has been a graphic designer in the computer interface field since 1985, but her true passion is fine art.
Jennifer has exhibited her artwork in several shows in Marlborough at the Marlborough Arts Center and in Old Lyme at the Lyme Art Association. The current display in the Marlborough Town Hall includes her watercolor paintings, pastel paintings and colored pencil. “I love the organic shapes, textures, and colors of nature. I try to capture this in my work which is why I love to create images of landscapes as well as elevate the small things like flowers, fruits and vegetables.”
This exhibit is open to the public during business hours at the Town Hall: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8AM – 4:30PM, Tuesday 8AM – 7PM, and Fridays from 8AM to Noon, and will continue from July 3, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
