Marlborough Arts Center’s 4th Friday @ the Arts Café musical evenings for 2017 begin on Friday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. with “Cross Purpose”, a 4-piece contemporary Christian rock band that uniquely combines original material, powerful arrangements, and contemporary lyrics that go far beyond the typical. Cross Purpose’s musical influences are as eclectic as their personalities and include Rock, Blues, Progressive, Funk, Punk, and Classical. Their sound relies on a solid rhythmic foundation, strong vocals, and dazzling lead guitar. The group has been together since 2005, have played venues throughout the Connecticut and New England, and have recorded three CDs. although this is their first time in Marlborough. Led by Bob Stanhope on vocals and rhythm guitar, the group includes Roy Ellingsen on lead guitar and vocals, Gregg Flower on drums, and Doug Bolin on bass and vocals.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. BYO Wine with other refreshments available. The Marlborough Arts Center is a non-profit regional center for the arts located at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT. Concerts are held in the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery.
