The Mass-Conn Fusion Duo will open the 2018 Year of music events at the Marlborough Arts Center’s “4th Friday at the Arts Café” series at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough CT. The Mass-Conn Fusion Duo consists of Jim Healy on the upright bass and Liz Roberts on saxophone. They enjoy imagining all different styles of music to fit their very unique instrumentation. As they say, “Anything is fair game from Take 5 to Maroon 5.” This dynamic duo has been playing together over the past 25 years after both graduated from the UConn Musical Department. Jim started the precursor Mass-Conn Fusion Band 35 years ago and when Liz joined the Band she and Jim formed the Duo as a special part of the group. They enjoy the diversity that bring members of both groups allows them to share. It is this diversity that they will bring to the 4th Friday at the Arts Café.
The admission is $10/person at the door. BYOWine with other refreshments available. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. It is recommended to come early to get a choice of the best seats. The Marlborough Arts Center is a completely volunteer non-profit organization housed in an historic building that is fully accessible and has ample parking.
