The Marlborough Arts Center is in the process of purchasing the adjoining wooded lot, one of the last parcels of land in the area that is left in its natural non-developed state. We plan to preserve the land in this natural state and to create an ART PARK within it for the use of the community and region as an extension of our Mission as a regional center for the arts, culture, and history of the area.
We plan to treat the land’s beauty gently, to create a Sculpture Garden within its trees, to have walking trails among the sculptures, to have artists use it as en plein air setting, to have concerts where musicians can play within this natural amphitheater, and to also create a labyrinth for those who would want to quietly meditate in nature.
We have applied for a grant from The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, but must raise at least half of the funds for this purchase from our members and other supporters of the arts. You can contribute either by a pledge now to be paid in May, or by donating immediately.
To Pledge Now, email Joan Lester, President and co-chairman of the ART PARK committee, at lee.lester@att.net with your name, address, email address, telephone number and the amount of your pledge.
If you prefer to Donate Now, make a check payable to “Marlborough Arts Center” and mail it to Marlborough Arts Center, Att: ART PARK, 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT 06447.
Thank you. Together we can turn this Vision of an ART PARK into a reality for Marlborough.
