The Marlborough Arts Center, 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT is extremely pleased to host Gail Wade and Turning Point for their annual concert in the Charles W. Hall Art Gallery on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 7:30 – 9 p.m. Gail Wade and her group are known both nationally and internationally. Their concerts have a particular dynamic between the musicians and the audience, some of whom are very familiar with their work while others are new to the sounds, yet all of whom are involved in the music and easy interaction. People don’t want to leave a Gail Wade Concert. They feel like friends at the end of the evening. It is an experience and the acoustics in the Marlborough Center’s Art Gallery make it an unforgettable one.
Gail Wade and Turning Point play an eclectic blend of Americana, Bluegrass, and Blues. Gail Wade is a singer, song-crafter, and guitarist. Her original music is soulfully crafted while she gives a fresh interpretation to the traditional. Peggy Ann Harvey plays fiddle, saxophone, harmonica, and writes brilliant vocal interpretations. Dan Menzon’s unique banjo style incorporates the traditional Scruggs style with a more fluid melodic line. Rob Rainwater, on acoustic bass, trained in jazz and classics, and brings great energy and musicality to the group. Tim St. Jean is a veteran mandolin player, well-versed in traditional music, yet makes himself at home with the many different genres of Turning Point.
Admission at the door is $15/individual. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. so come early to choose a seat and enjoy the art filled gallery. Seats cannot be reserved. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible. The Gift Shop filled with unique crafts and works by local and regional artists will be open for your shopping pleasure.
