ART PARK in Phase 2

path-art-park stone-bench-art-parkThe Marlborough Arts Center’s ART PARK is in Phase 2 now after last year’s fund-raising efforts to buy and preserve the land for the future of arts in the community and region. At the moment this means the beginning of making paths through the trees so that people will soon be able to utilize the 1 1/2 acres of land that will include a Sculpture Park.

The pictures show what a few volunteers are making possible by working together. There is now a curving path around the periphery of the lot that makes a safe way to enter and walk the area. The first of the sculptures is a hand-worked stone bench near the back stone wall, a place to sit and reflect. There will be a clear area in the center for en plein artists to paint as invasive plant ground cover is in the process of being removed.

If you would like to join in, just bring a pair of work gloves and come over to the Arts Center on a Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. to help. Besides the fun of a joint effort, you will have the pleasure of knowing that you have literally had a hand in creating the ART PARK.

The Marlborough Arts Center is located at 231 North Main Street in Marlborough, CT and is a non-profit regional center for the arts.
