Our 4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe is a monthly evening of musicians and performers who entertain in the intimate atmosphere of the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery with its great acoustics and a stage on the same level as the audience. This makes for interesting and personalized interaction between the musicians and those in the audience. It is like having a concert in the comfort of your home, and MAC does indeed become a home to the performing arts and artists. Chairs and bistro tables are set up, people choose where to sit, and the ambiance is warmed by home-baked refreshments being available. Guests are invited to bring their own wine. Most concerts begin at 7:30 PM with doors opening at 7:00 PM.
Grant Awarded to MAC
The Marlborough Arts Center and Museum, Inc. has been awarded a Grant of $8,250 from The Marlborough Greater Together Committee Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. This generous grant recognizes the unique 4th Fridays @ the Arts Café program that has brought a large variety of creative performances and entertainment to the community every month for 14 years at the Marlborough Arts Center, and subsidizes their celebratory 15th year by covering admission fees for everyone who attends any 4th Friday @ the Arts Café program from July 2025 to June 2026.
If you have never attended a “4th Friday” concert, we hope you will consider this an invitation to do so, to have the pleasure of being in the congenial atmosphere and beauty of the Marlborough Arts Center surrounded by original art works inside, with views to the landscaped grounds and sculptures outside in the Art Park. Most of the programs are musical in nature but have also included poets, historic re-enactors, short one-act plays, and dancers. Many people attend regularly and bring friends. Others come by themselves but do not feel alone in the friendly interactive atmosphere that the “4th Fridays” are known for. Programs begin at 7:30 PM and usually conclude around 9:30 PM.
