Marlborough Arts Center Final Summer Concert

The Marlborough Arts Center (231 N. Main St.) is holding its final concert of its 2020 summer series on Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at 1:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Arts Center.  The rain date is Sunday, October 11, at 1:30pm.

The concert will be a musical variety show featuring individual performances by Bruce Phelps – One Man With A Horn, and a few members of the Modern Riffs.  Musical selections will include pop, jazz, swing, and country.

People should plan on bringing their own chairs/blankets to sit on and any refreshments they wish.  While the concert is free and open to the public, donations are always welcome.  Social distancing will be in place and people must wear masks.

Mary Horrigan Watercolor Classes

The Marlborough Arts Center (231 North Main Street, Marlborough, Ct.) is pleased to announce that watercolor classes with local artist Mary Horrigan, will start later this month.

Due to Covid precautions, class sizes will be limited to eight students. Classes will meet in the upper gallery space, allowing for more spacing between students.

Two classes will be offered, one during the day and one in the evening. Tuesday classes will begin on September 29, from 1 – 3 pm, and run for six weeks, ending November 3. Thursday evening classes will begin on October 1, from 7 – 9 pm, and run for six weeks, ending November 5.

Because of the small class size, all levels of experience, including beginners, are welcome.

The fee for six classes is $120, payable to the Marlborough Arts Center. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website: Look under “Classes;” select “Registration Info,” and then download and print the Registration Form.

Supply lists will be provided once a sufficient number of students have registered to allow the class to be confirmed.
