October’s 4th Friday @ the Arts Café

8 ARTISTS & LEAVE’EM LAUGHING

Ed Hicks is the featured artist at the Marlborough Arts Center’s 4th Friday at the Café on October 25, 2019.  Ed is a Glastonbury resident and landscape oils painter.  He has put together a two-part program, 8 ARTISTS & LEAVE ‘EM LAUGHING, which will be presented at the café.  Hicks states “through conversation and multimedia, I highlight the artist’s works, words and bizarre ways.  Knowing more about their lives will help you better understand their art.”  Included in the presentation are large projected images of their paintings.  This presentation is meant to be a tribute to many great artists and comedians.  “The artist’s paintings, the comic’s words, their ‘je ne sais quio’, though in different media, have enriched our lives!”.

The artists featured in the program are those who have influenced the culture of their times, Vincent Van Gogh being one.  The comedians included do presentations that target seniors, children and sports among others.  Famous one-liners will be easily recognizable.  The performance is for people of all ages and will last approximately one hour.

The program will be held at the Marlborough Arts Center, 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, Ct. 06447 on October 25, 2019.  Doors open at 7:00PM with the performance beginning at 7:30PM.  Cost is $10.
