The Marlborough Arts Center invites everyone to the Opening Reception of the 2018 “East of the River” Juried Art Show on Friday, April 6, 7-9 p.m., to meet and greet the artists whose works have been selected for inclusion in this Show by the Juror, Luther Kelly Hall, an internationally known artist. Beyond the pleasure of meeting and greeting the artists at the Opening Reception, everyone is also invited to enjoy a bountiful buffet of food and wine in the Art Gallery. The artists participating are from across the state and represent a variety of media. Close to $1,500 in awards will be presented to the winning artists at the Reception. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The Show will be open every weekend day from 1-4 p.m. from April 6 – April 28. Admission is free of charge.
It is an honor to have Luther Kelly Hall as this year’s Juror. His work has been featured in galleries and collections in the United States, Canada, and Japan, and also in sporting publications due to his personal outdoor passions for fishing and hunting that are primary features of his paintings. He is a dedicated conservationist and has been honored for his many contributions to conservation.
This “East of the River” Juried Art Show will be exhibited in the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery in the historic building that is the Marlborough Arts Center at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible.
