Hall Gallery at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT from Saturday, November 4 through Sunday, November 26. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  with the exception of Thanksgiving Day on November 23. All are invited to attend the Reception on Sunday, November 12 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. to meet and greet the artists, to be present for the Awards Ceremony at 2:00 p.m., and to enjoy refreshments together in the convivial atmosphere that is a hallmark of the Marlborough Arts Center.

The Connecticut Watercolor Society is honored to announce that Deborah Quinn-Munson is the Juror for this Autumn Exhibition. She is well known nationally and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Arts and Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University, and also earned the master level designation in the International Association of Pastel Societies. She is a member of the Salmagundi Club, the Copley Society of Art, the Oil Painters of America, and is a signature member of the pastel Society of America. Evoking memories, the paintings of Deborah Quinn-Munson bring us ti serene and restful places with distant horizons and peaceful surroundings. Loving bold color and energetic brush strokes, Quinn-Munson explores the contrast between nature’s strength and its more gentle side. As she has said of her work, “Capturing a scene’s quiet beauty disturbed only by a breeze or a few clouds contrasts with the spirited making of a painting.” It is this sensitivity and great skill that she brings to the artists she judges in this Exhibition.

The Marlborough Arts Center is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and is delighted to host the Connecticut Watercolor Society for a second time. The Arts Center is housed in an historic building that is fully accessible and has ample parking. Entrance to this Exhibition is free of charge. Check the website at www.marlborougharts.org for information on this and other artistic events and classes.
