Invitation for everyone who donated to the ART PARK at the Marlborough Arts Center

The Board of Directors would like to publicly recognize all of the donors who made the purchase of the adjoining land, and creation of the ART PARK, a reality for Marlborough and the region. They are inviting every donor to come to the Marlborough Arts Center’s Opening Reception of the Artist Member Show on Sunday, August 30, to be publicly recognized and thanked at 2:00 p.m. during the Reception.

The Reception is open from 1-4 p.m., with time to meet and greet the artists, the donors, the Board, and the many friends of the arts in the area. Enjoy the art. Enjoy the buffet. Enjoy the warmth and openness that are the hallmarks of the Marlborough Arts Center. As always, Shows and Receptions are free of charge.

Artist Member Show

The Marlborough Arts Center invites all to the Opening Reception of the Annual Member Artist Show on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. at the Art Gallery, 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet the artists, peruse their works, and enjoy a glass of wine and treats from the buffet. Artists and art lovers of all ages are welcome.

After this Reception, the Show will be open every Saturday and Sunday through September 27, 1-4 p.m., with the exception of Labor Day weekend. The Arts Center is fully accessible and has ample parking. No reservations are needed. The Show is always free of charge.

A special part of the Opening Reception is that all donors to the ART PARK project are also invited to attend and to be publicly thanked for helping to make this Vision of an ART PARK a reality in Marlborough . At 2:00 p.m., there will be a particular presentation to recognize the major donors, those who donated $1,000 or more.

At 3:00 p.m. the prizes for the winning artists from this judged show will be awarded.

The Members of the Board of Directors hopes that many will join them in celebrating our artists and our donors, who make the Marlborough Arts Center a vibrant place for all to enjoy both now and in the future.

Sweettarts at 4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe on August 28th

The “Sweettarts” star at Marlborough Arts Center’s 4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at 231 North Main Street in Marlborough, CT.

This is the first time we are featuring this female duo, Wendi Richardson and Lynn Aguero, who have been singing in bands for over 20 years and now are a great pair with sweet guitar and beautifully blended voices singing favorites from Elvis, the Everly Brothers, and many more whose lyrics you’ll remember and make you want to sing along. SO, come on in and do just that.

The Arts Center venue is perfectly suited for them with great acoustics, art-covered walls, and a very interactive audience literally on the same level as the stage. These evenings are known for being relaxed and fun.

Admission at the door is $10/person. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. meaning there is time to peruse the art, visit the Gift Shop for unique artist-created jewelry and more, and then settle down for the music. BYOWine with other refreshments available. There is ample parking and the beautiful building is fully accessible.

Sept. 27  –  Exhibit closes.   Pick up artwork between 3:00 and 4:00

MAC MEMO TO MEMBERS, AUGUST 2015

We are in the closing stages for the ART PARK, with donations still open and coming in thanks to all.

In fact, so many thanks are in order that we are asking all who donated to come to the Open Reception of the Member Artist Show on Sunday, August 30 from 1-3 in the Art Gallery where we would like to publicly recognize you! There will be a very special recognition for our major donors, who gave $1,000 or more at 2:00 p.m.

What a reception: enjoy the art show; meet and greet the artists; meet the donors for the ART PARK; special honors for major donors at 2:00; art prizes awarded at 3:00; and all this with the hospitality MAC is known for, along with a buffet of treats and drinks. The Member Artist Show will also open weekends 1-4 through September 27, excluding Labor Day weekend.

New this year is that we are offering the possibility to give one of the 4 art prizes in memory of someone who loved the arts. Something we hope will become an annual event. If you would like to give a memorial prize, contact Fran Terase, President, directly at (860) 295-9619.
