2010 Artist Member Show Multi-Media Exhibit

Dear Valued Member Artist:

Dear Valued Artist Member,

The Marlborough Arts Center is pleased to invite you to participate in our fourth annual Artist-Member Show, which begins on Saturday, Sept. 11th, and continues on weekends through Sunday, October 31st. We are asking members with framed art, ior other multi-media art, ncluding fiber art, to submit one or two of your best works (depending on the number of our responses), and that these work(s) be no larger than 50 inches wide, including frame, and be wired for hanging. 3-D work, such as sculpture, pottery and jewelry should also be limited to one to two pieces. The artist is requested to bring an appropriate means of display.

Included in this mailing is an inventory list for you to complete and bring in with your work. The Arts Center will take a 30% commission on work that is sold in the show. Payment will be at conclusion of show. We would prefer all items in this exhibit be offered for sale.

We also have a wonderful Gift Shop where you might want to sell some of your items. Anyone interested in selling through the Gift Shop should contact Chris Corcoran at 860) 652-8150.

Rules: The Marlborough Arts Center reserves the right to curate, hang and set up all displays. Every precaution will be taken to protect entries, and due care will be exercised in handling all work submitted. However, the Marlborough Arts Center, its volunteers, agents, officers, and board members will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work from any cause whatsoever, or the theft of any work on display or in storage. The submitting artist agrees to insure or self insure any work submitted, and to hold harmless the Marlborough Arts Center from any damage resulting from the use of the premises, or any loss or damage to submitted work or property of the Marlborough Arts Center members, guests, or others. The submission of works to this exhibit constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist or the artist’s agent to these conditions.

Important Dates:

Return form by Aug. 17th

Drop off art Sept. 1st 10:00 am – 12:00 pm or Sept. 1st 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Artist’s Reception Sept. 12th 2:00 pm--Please bring an appetizer-we provide the wine!

Pick up Oct. 31st 4:00 – 5:00 or Nov. 1st 5:00 – 6:00 pm

*NOTE* Any artwork not picked up by Nov. 1st will be charged a rental fee of $15

Open Gallery hours Saturdays and Sundays 1:00 – 4:00 pm

To better interest the public in attending this exhibit, we ask that you consider demonstrating your art in our gallery during one of the weekends we are open. If you would be willing to demonstrate, please contact Carole Jeffries at (860) 295 9175 for more information. Also, please consider gallery sitting during the show; a sign-up sheet will be available as you drop off your art.
